Today I read a email from the twin sister about her twin dying Friday night in Hospice of Dayton. Both of the twins were my friends, it is going to be really hard to see Sharon without Sandy. I talked to Sharon today and she sounded very tried and flat, she told me more of the plans for the viewing and funeral. I had already been busily ordering flowers from Lin and I and the Dayton Miniature Society club. I also had to send a email to all the club members who many may have already heard. That is 2 folks in the last month who I knew that have died suddenly from cancer. Sandy had it before but they she was okay, oops, they made a huge mistake. Now my oldest daughter best from junior high has cancer and it looks really bad for her; she has 4 young children.
I just am so sadden all of these events, knowing there is nothing I or anyone else could do for them.
I am going to the viewing tomorrow evening and the Mass of Burial Wednesday morning for Sandy. Not sure what to say to Sharon and the family of Sandy, most of the placates seem so lame and useless. I think being there is the best thing I can do for her, if she needs a shoulder to cry on or someone to hug.

Hi,
I have been up in Oak Harbor near Port Clinton by Lake Erie visiting my mom. I go about once a month or so, to help with her house, yard, take shopping and to Upper Sandusky to see my step-dad Dee in a nursing home.He is a permanent resident now, and it is 45-50 miles from her house and she does not drive. So I go up and take her 2-3 times in a week stay to visit him. Hoping to get him to a closer nursing home so she can get there more often.
Saturday went to the Country Life Fair, what a joke. First they charged us $5 a car to park, $15 a person to get in the gate. So far it has cost us $35 plus gas to Columbus and back, and we have nothing for it to show. The fair was held at the Ohio Historical Society Village grounds, the ground is rough with ridges, holes and dirt. Then there are some gravel paths and a boardwalk around the buildings. The terrain was easy for the elderly, folks with walkers, wheelchairs or strollers. The food was the highest priced fair food I ever seen, guess they figure we got lots of money to spend. The number of toilets were too few and not enough seating for the crowd size. The vendors were in tents of various sizes, most to small for anyone with wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, etc. The hoards of rabid suburbanite man & women were just plain rude and totally careless of anyone between them and the merchandise. It made shopping for me almost impossible since I was using a walker with a seat so I would be able go longer than with my cane. The show did offer some nice demos and the Historical Society was open and free for us to see. I wouldn't remand this fair to anyone. The only good thing was that a trip to Columbus is never a waste when you can go to Schmidt's. The German village restaurant is the prefect spot for German sausages, beer and of course the best cream puffs! So we went and made the trip to Columbus worthwhile afterall!!
